El Campoans love to dance, and because of their rich Czech heritage, they love to polka. This music festival, sponsored by the Knights of Columbus, features a full day of music by three polka bands, Usually, at one oink during the day, al the bands get on stage together for a giant jam session, and the crowd sings along to the Czech songs. Dancers from all over the state, young and old, swirl around the wooden dance floor of the KC Hall. If you don't know how to polka, this is the place to learn. There's plenty of beer, soda and food for sale.

This festival, held since 1932, begins with a Fun Fair at Lion's Park, with continuous musical entertainment, citrus exhibits, children's games, craft demonstrations, food and an arts and crafts show.

Citrus Fiesta is known the world over for its Product Costume Show. Two shows feature clothing made of products grown in the Rio Grande Valley. The costumes must be completely covered with at least one kind of Valley product. This could be orange seeds, onion, skins, corn husks, or any agricultural product.

The Parade of Oranges shows off area produce with a category called Valley grown Products, in which floats must consist of at least 50 percent Valley produce. This parade attracts more than 100,000 visitors.

Other activities include a king and queen contest and plenty of contests for Winter Texans, including golf, shuffleboard and pool.

Happy to host Winter Texans, Laredo welcomes its guests with a little party. Activities include square dancing, an arts and crafts fair, an antique car show, horseshoe tournament, a fishing contest, Mexican dance and music performances, and a model aircraft airshow.
